Kachina Peak (Taos Ski Valley, NM)
Until recently, the 12,481-foot summit of Kachina Peak was only accessible by a lung-burning 45-minute hike through the thin air. Now a five-minute ride on the highest triple chair in North America deposits you on top of the impressive peak. Mainstreet is the most straightforward descent and still offers plenty of steep turns. To really leave your mark, check out the K Chutes, numbered one to five on the trail map, they all offer the kind of heart-in-your-throat steeps that Taos is known for.
